Vacations are coming to an end, the kids are headed back to school, and the shadows are getting a bit longer. Summer will soon be gone (sigh), but cooler temps and new fall fashion will soon arrive! This is that in-between time when it’s hard to know just what to wear. The air is still warm, but it doesn’t feel quite right wearing your summeriest of clothing. We’re not ready to put on sweaters yet either. Starting in September, we’ll be bringing you fresh new fall looks and the scoop on the biggest trends of the season. In the meantime, we thought it might be helpful to give you some ideas for the “in between”.
First up, we revisit a favorite go-to piece with the Military Jacket. They’re lightweight, totally neutral, and will give any summer dress a fall flair.
Weekend Runaround: Pair it with a floral or lace summer dress and flats to stay cool but feel seasonally appropriate.
Feeling Feminine: It may be inherently casual and more masculine in feel, but we love the balance when paired with a super feminine top. Take any of your summery tops and make them work in fall with a jacket.
With Denim Shorts – If you’ve lived in them all summer like we have, they’ll remain a wardrobe staple until you can’t bare your legs anymore! Again, paired with flats and military jacket, they’ll feel perfectly fall appropriate.
