3 WAYS TO WORK IT

The Basics: Even if “professional attire” isn’t part of your lifestyle, we all have a pair or two of those “conservative” pants for the times when jeans just aren’t appropriate. How can you make them still feel fashionable, feminine, and let your personal sense of style shine through? A few simple rules to follow and you’re set. 1) Remember the play on proportion. If you are wearing a wide leg or boot cut trouser, keep it slim on top, or tuck in a billowy blouse to give your waist definition. If your pant is a slim silhouette, blousey, drapey, peplum, or longer lengths all work! 2) If your version is a few years old, be sure to keep the top fresh with a current fashion detail or pretty silhouette. Layers are always good! 3) A killer pair of heels can make any pant feel current. For an easy casual look, pair trousers with a cute embellished tee, a comfy cardigan and flats.

Power Suit: Tweed, plaid, herringbone, and textured fabrics are key this season. A cuffed wide-leg trouser in one of these fabrics is a sure classic. Pair with a pretty, silky top, statement necklace, and some fab shoes and you’ll command the attention of your audience at that meeting. Throw on a simple black blazer, or up the ante with a faux fur jacket.

Party Pretty: Those slim trousers can transition from office to party wear with the right sexy piece on top. We love them with a leather peplum top and studded heels.
