Guest Post: It’s the 4th of July what to eat?

Now that you know what to wear to all those picnics and parties what about what to eat? I don’t know about you but with packing, travel plans, and all the party prep the last thing I want to do is slave away in the kitchen. I also don’t want to be boring and just rely on hot dogs and hamburgers so here are some fun EASY, and QUICK recipes to turn your picnic into a hit!!

This recipe is hands down a no fuss no muss recipe:

Brownie-Kebab1-jpg

What you’ll need

-brownies

-strawberries

-blueberries

-marshmallows

-kebab sticks

Cut your brownies into little chunks, and assemble your kebabs in a red, white, and blue fashion (you can also add any other fruit you fancy, like raspberries). Then lay on a tray and for a final touch drizzle with fudge. (I’m salivating already)!

This recipe requires a little more work on the prep side but its super easy and super flavorful:

What you’ll need

– crockpot

-6 boneless skinless chicken breasts

-bbq sauce ( I mix half a bottle of Stubbs spicy, and half a bottle of sweet)

-1/4 cup brown sugar

-1/2 cup of italian dressing

-2 tablespoons of worcestershire

-buns (I like the honey buns to tone down the spice)

Add frozen chicken breasts to the slow cooker and then top with the sauce mixture. Cook on high for 3-4 hours or low 6-8 hours. I usually add more worcestershire sauce and less brown sugar because I like my chicken a little spicier, but adjust where needed for your taste preference. Lastly shred the chicken with two forks, it should literally fall apart! Super yummy and super easy.

This last recipe is super cute/fun and all you have to do is pour:

A special thank you to Katrina’s Kitchen for this amazing recipe. I didn’t even know this drink rocket science was possible (apparently its all about the sugar content).

What you’ll need:

-blue gatorade

-sobe pina colada

-ocean spray cran-apple

-ice (lots of ice)

Fill your glass 1/3 of the way with the cran-apple juice, then fill to the top with ice (don’t skimp), next slowly pour the sobe pina colada juice over the ice, and then top with the gatorade. The trick is to pour directly onto the ice cube and as slow as possible. Lastly top with fun straws! This is a treat EVERYONE can sip and enjoy.
