We add personality to our lips with color as we speak truth to the world!

Its not a secret that lipstick is back and more popular than ever! With its return, it is not to be mistaken as a boring application of color, but with different techniques, styles, and trends, a pop of color on the lips is the staple of many women’s makeup looks, including ours!

Most recently, there has been no limit to the colors! We have seen gorgeous shades of orange, purple, blue hues, and of course the classic reds, pinks, and nudes. As well as the colors there are exciting ways to make the lip look one of a kind including adding different color lip liners, loose pigments, or even mixing colors to invent one never seen before!

The most popular look at the time is the matte lip. This trend began long ago, popularized in the 20’s and revisited now. Artist from MAC, Nars, Bobbi Brown, and replenish alike have an attraction to the timeless look.

At replenish, there are an assortment of Ultimate Matte Lip Colours by Becca Cosmetics, a line based out of Australia, that has graciously made its way to the states. If you are more reserved or looking for  a toned down color, the shade Claudine would be perfect. It is a neutral tan clay with a hint of pink. If browns are more your speed, there is a warm almond shade that is great for the warm or cold weather called Isolde. Lastly for the toned down colors, the pretty roseate, Eloise is the perfect light hearted pink rose color.

If you are looking for a brighter, classic red, much like Rita Hayworth or Ava Gardener then the shades Aurora, Amelia, and Josephine will be perfect for you! Aurora is a bright fire engine red that screams “Look at my confidence!” It is a step right before scarlet and will definitely be the focus of your face. Amelia on the other hand is the red that is infused with pink. This color, too, is bold and beautiful. Lastly, Josephine is the most classic of the three. It is a blue red that makes you think pin up!

Completing the Becca Ultimate Matte Lip Colours are the two deep colors Antoinette and Adele. Both colors are magenta, but they have very different appearances. Antoinette is the darker of the two. It has a slight mix of a warm pink and violet. Adele is very pink…borderline fuscia, but still sexy. It is the epitome of femininity and bold strength. Both colors are ideal for the wintertime, but who says you can’t wear deep colors in the summer? We wear them whenever we are inspired to!

When we are confident in ourselves, we can speak truth and light to those around us. When we wear our lipstick, be the colors bright or neutral, it serves as a reminder that our words are powerful. They are important. And it is fun to color our bridge between our inner thoughts and outer world beautifully. The colors that we choose for our lips can help inspire us for the day. So the next time you apply your lipstick, set an intention, speak it out loud, and live colorfully!
