Spring Trend: Sporty (part II)

The official start to spring is right around the corner, and Spring trends are here!  Over the next several weeks, we’ll be sharing the biggest, must-have pieces of the season.  We’re kicking things off with what is seemingly the trend of the year….Sporty.  We first shared it here last Fall, and with it’s explosive presence this spring we had to share it’s evolution.

The pieces are athletic-inspired, often in cozy knit fabrics, with easy fits.  To avoid looking like you are going to the gym, the key is pairing them with slim silhouettes, and other traditional fashion street-wear.  Don’t forget to add accessories!

TOPS :

Sweatshirts, graphics, baseball tees and varsity jackets all fit the bill.  Pair with skinny jeans, leather leggings, or printed shorts and simple pointy toe flats.

BOTTOMS:

That slouchy pant we’ve been raving about falls within this category.  Especially of-the-moment is the knit jogger or track pant, often complete with a side-stripe detail, and a cuffed bottom.  The track pant can be found in silky, drapey fabrics for a dressier look too.  Pair with a slim fit tee or tank, and a military or moto jacket.  Slip on sneakers or go with ankle strap flats or even heels to elevate the look.

SPORTY DRESSES:

Knit, polo, tennis-inspired and sweatshirt dresses are all making there way into stores this spring.  So easy to throw on with a denim jacket and ankle strap or d’orsay flats.

SNEAKERS:

Accessories are always important!  If top or bottom sporty silhouettes aren’t your cup of tee, add a cute sneaker to your destroyed denim, slim-fit tee and moto jacket for a super chic look for running around town.
